• Generate Insight Using Text Network Analysis & Visualization

InfraNodus is an open-source tool that can be used to better understand, research, and generate insight about any text or idea. It visualizes a text as a network to show you the most relevant topics, their relations, and the structural gaps between them to help you generate new ideas.

The approach used in InfraNodus is based on state-of-the-art methodology first described in these papers and then presented at the World Wide Web 2019 conference.

Using the interactive graph you can quickly understand what the text is about and get a different perspective on it. If you click on any words in the graph, you will quickly get to the parts of the text where those terms tend to appear.

InfraNodus is used by hundreds of researchers worldwide to perform and teach text-related studies, to analyze customer feedback data in marketing, to improve search engine optimization, to perform text mining operations (including in-built LDA analysis), to make sense of bits and pieces of disjointed textual data, and to create and share mindmaps and network graphs. It supports English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Portugese and Swedish languages, with Chinese and Japanese to be implemented soon.

  • See the Big Picture

Using InfraNodus you can connect any disjointed bits and pieces of information and see how they all relate.

InfraNodus will automatically convert a text into network and show you which keywords or concepts tend to co-occur in your research notes, writings, newsfeeds, Tweets or any discourse.

This way you will have a better idea of the topics that are present within and of the most influential concepts and keywords.

You can also analyze the discourse structure and measure its diversity based on the community structure of the graph you obtained .

Visualizing a text in this way can also help you to remember it better and to connect ideas that seemed to be disconnected before. The same approach can be used on research notes and book excerpts.

  • Search Engine Optimization

InfraNodus can be used to better understand what content you need to create to fill in the gaps between what already exists and what people are searching for.

We published several SEO case studies that demonstrate how network analysis approach can propel your content to the top search results.

The basic idea is to choose your key words and to analyze the existing search results using InfraNodus’ Google plugin. You can then create a second graph to visualize the most common search terms for this topic. Finally, using our “graph diff” feature you can see the most prominent terms in the existing search queries that do not appear in the search results. You can read more about this in our article in Towards Data Science.

  • Learn and Discover New Ideas

The most interesting feature of InfraNodus is that it can help you generate new ideas and stimulate creative thinking.

If you represent your ideas or any text as a graph, you will see gaps between the clusters of nodes. These are called “structural gaps” and those are the areas where there is a great potential to discover something new. Asking the research questions that can bridge those gaps will lead you to new ideas and “eureka” moments. Several studies show that innovation and so-called “creative leaps” occur in these areas. You can also look beyond the periphery of the graph to see where to expand your knowledge.

Here are some case studies: Learning through Associations and Knowledge Graphs and Identifying the Gaps in Public Discourse using Text Network Analysis
